Disinfection is the treatment given to commodities or process in order to inactivate or destroy pathogenic bacteria, fungi, viruses, cysts, and other microorganisms. Chemicals used in disinfection are called disinfectants. Different disinfectants have different target ranges, not all disinfectants can kill all microorganisms.
